The elders of Komiguea, a village ten kilometres north from the major town of Parakou in Benin Republic, gave a free gift of over three hectares of land in 2003. With funding from Christian Blind Mission and with a set of architect’s drawings Dr Andrew Potter oversaw the construction of a thirty-two bed eye hospital. It was opened at the end of 2005. Since then the eye clinic had been housed in the nearby church hospital.
