Last year was quite an unbelievable year. From isolation, to fear of leaving our home, to great uncertainty of what our future would look like.
For many disabled people across the world, this has been the case their entire lives. In certain cultures, those who have disabilities are not only isolated from the outside world, but can face rejection from their families or are even seen as a curse.
Over the next few months we will hear from projects around the world who are supporting disabled people on a daily basis, providing healthcare necessities and education, all while sharing the love and message of God. We will provide information over the coming weeks that not only shows what disability looks like across the world, but also provide a biblical response to disability and how we should respond as Christians.
Due to this global pandemic we find ourselves in, support and funding has decreased significantly, especially in the disability sector. We will highlight the current needs of these projects and provide prayer requests for their greatest needs.
We serve a loving Father who said “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Matt. 19:14). He cares deeply about those who are vulnerable and is working through many of His followers across the world who are providing for these people in need. Please join with us in the coming months to pray for those with a disability, to pray for those who are supporting them and to pray that God will work in these desperate times for the good of His people.
Each week we will release a devotional focusing on the biblical response to disability. Our quarterly magazine will also focus on disability and contain articles from our partners across the world working in the disability sector. During the month of March, we will be holding an online event to unite partners and supporters in prayer as we explore more about disability together. We will also be putting regular updates on our social media platforms, website and weekly prayer newsletter, so please keep an eye out.
Thank you for prayers and support for our partners across the world, and we look forward to exploring more about disability with you in the coming months.
