Through the organisation Sunrise, a medical clinic has been set up in the local prison to provide compassionate care to prisoners, reduce the spread of infection and provide any necessary medication free of charge. Since 2001, Sunrise has been working to help people suffering with HIV/AIDs and then began to run a clinic in the prison four days a week as there was an issue with AIDs and TB. Through offering free medication to prisoners, they become less of a burden to their families, many of whom have little money to survive, as this would be the only way of them sourcing money for medicine.
