The project fundamentally creates opportunities for people living with disability and their families to hear, understand and receive the gospel. Helping Hands seeks to mobilise the church to embrace people with disability, live in community with them, and discover ways for them to serve and be served within the community. It does this by vision-sharing, Bible teaching, training seminars and by modelling the ministry. This includes visiting those with disability in their homes, encouraging them to come to church, distribution and maintenance of mobility aids, establishing community Bible studies, support groups for parents of children with disability and vocational-skills training.
