In November 2018, a new clinic was built by the Imagine If Trust to allow displaced people in North Eastern DR Congo to access affordable healthcare. A 24-bed health centre was built in Kasindi, and by the year 2021 they expect to have served around 15,000 people.
Currently 1 in 5 children die before their 5th birthday, mostly due to preventable diseases. Through the partnership with the local government hospital, the clinic can provide a safe place for women to give birth, whether naturally or by caesarean. The clinic will also be training local people in family planning, vaccinations and healthy eating. Through offering medical care to those in need, the clinic seeks to show the love of Christ in one of the poorest countries in the world.
