Christian Faith Ministries share three incredible testimonies of students from a Bible College in Nigeria, who were determined not to let go of their faith in Jesus.
A's* Testimony
I was a Muslim and I was able to do Primary education and I started my secondary school. That is when I started seeing visions in the night. I was seeing a man in white clothes with his face shining like the sun and he told me to follow him. When I told my parents, they said it is demons that are disturbing me. After many incantations from my father and some Muslim clerics I was still seeing the man in my dreams. From there I went to church and I told the pastor what I was seeing. He led me to Christ.
When my parents learned about it they locked me in a room in the house for 5 days without food. From there they poisoned my food and without knowing I ate the food, but nothing happened to me. One of my aunts released me and I escaped to Jalingo, the capitol of my state. There I was sleeping in a church for over a month before the pastor was convinced that I was telling the truth. They finally brought me here for Discipleship.
Because of all this trouble I was not able to continue with my education but thank God for this ministry. Now I am in Senior Secondary Grade 1 here and am also learning men’s hair dressing in the vocational institute.
M's* Testimony
I was Muslim by birth and went to Islamic school for 5 years. When I was 19 years old, I left my parents to go and look for work in the nearby village. The family that welcomed me to stay in their home showed me love that was beyond my expectations. They never preached to me verbally. but their lives were an example of Christ.
An evangelical crusade was organised in that village. The night of the crusade I could not sleep because I wanted to go to the crusade, but I was afraid. The next morning, I went to the church and accepted Christ.
When my parents knew about it they came and arrested me, dragged me home and locked me in a room for 3 days, but one of my relatives secretly released me. The church relocated me to Mubi town but when I was there my elder brother saw me and he arrested me and locked me up again, but his wife released me. From there I was brought for discipleship.
Early this year, when I was coming back to Discipleship training after Christmas break, my parents arrested me when they saw me at the car repair garage. This time they beat me and took me before the Islamic Council. They demanded I return to Islam, even promising to buy a car for me. When they saw that I do not want to follow them they locked me up for 25 days in a room. Finally, when they released me, I escaped and returned to Discipleship training.
My family have now disowned me. My mother told me never to visit her again.
I am here in Discipleship, learning about following Christ. I am also learning Fashion and Design in the Vocational Institute.
S's* Testimony
I was a Muslim before. I went to Islamic school in Kano State for 3 years. I was in Abuja with my elder brother when someone preached the gospel to me. That night I was unable to sleep because I was persuaded by the message I heard. I told my brother that I wanted to go to church but he threatened me not to dare to do such a thing. From there he informed my father. The next day I went to church and my brother threw me out of his house and refused even to give me my clothes. When my father visited me, he said that from that time I ceased to be his son.
From there I was brought to discipleship centre here and I have learned so many things. Now I can read and write both in Hausa and English languages. Am also learning to make shoes in the vocational institute. One of the best things I have learned is in terms of my character, to be patient, with self-control and humility.
Please pray for these believers who have gone through such trials to find Jesus, yet have faith that can move mountains.
