One of the examples of community working together is the number of clients (and their children) that were reintegrated to their families during this year. The first thing needed is the commitment of the family members to welcome them back. The team conducts several mediation meetings. The community leaders also have a role in this process being successful, as well as support from other members of the community.
Local authorities also help facilitate in getting civil documents such as birth certificates. They have been very instrumental in securing poor ID cards to some of the women. Because of this, the women were able to avail of the COVID-19 subsidy from the government.
This is a big example of people working together to keep mother and baby back in their families and communities, but also in ensure their well-being. We hope to secure poor ID cards to all our beneficiaries so that they can benefit from this.
Please pray for the process involved in reintegrating mothers and their children back into their families to try and ensure they receive long-term support. Pray for the teams caring for this process too as they handle both the practical and pastoral side of this transition.
