HZ Agape is made up of two programmes, employing 18 members of staff: Shekinah Shalom Childcare Centre and Eagles Wings. There are 48 children cared for in the childcare centre, of whom 80% have cerebral palsy. Eagles Wings has students who are being taught life and social skills. It is hoped that some of them will be able to get jobs, and so they are being trained specifically for this.
Specific prayer requests for those from Shekinah Shalom:
Pray for a three-month-old boy with club feet and problems with his oesophagus. He is often in distress and cries a lot; he vomits frequently and is losing weight. Pray for his healing and that both the doctor and the care staff will have wisdom in his treatment.
Pray for a 15-year-old girl with developmental problems, who loses her temper for no reason and vandalises her surroundings. Pray for wisdom for the staff and healing for this girl.
Give thanks that a healthy 7-month-old girl has been able to be fostered locally since May. Pray that this arrangement will be a blessing to both baby and her foster-parents.
Give thanks for the consistent and effective work of rehabilitation in the rehab centre and pray that many children will continue to be helped by it.
Specific prayer requests for those from Eagles Wings…
A new life-skills teacher has been recruited to work in the community project and is currently in her probationary period. She has a loving heart but lacks knowledge and insight in how to support older children. Pray that other staff will know how to help her and pray for her to grow in wisdom.
Two new students joined EW in May and June: a 22-year-old young man and a 9-year-old girl. Pray for them both to settle in well and especially for the young man who is extremely sensitive and lacking in confidence.
Pray for an EW student who is learning to work in the chain store which is underneath the training centre. So far, he is working hard and doing well; pray for him to grow in confidence and understanding. Two students took online classes specially designed for teenagers with special needs and were very happy to learn something new and interesting. Pray that this new development may be increasingly helpful.
