Vasile lives in Dancu, and he became very ill last May. His granddaughter, Esther, loves the Lord and is part of the church youth group. One day last May she asked the church to pray for her grandfather because he was very ill, and when he was no better a few days later, Pastor Slavic went to visit him. Vasile felt he could not go to the hospital because he was unable to afford any treatment, so had decided to stay at home and expected to die. Slavic was concerned when he visited him because he looked so ill, but he felt that there was hope for him and contacted Breadline to ask for help to take him to the hospital.
Due to support from MMN, we were able to immediately agree and Slavic arranged to take him that afternoon. Vasile had some internal bleeding, and needed an emergency operation which saved his life. Afterwards he needed another one, but praise the Lord, these operations were both successful and he is recovering well now. During the time Vasile was in hospital, Esther asked her grandmother, Ecaterina, to go to church with her and she heard the gospel and gave her life to the Lord. When Pastor Slavic next visited Vasile in hospital, he also wanted to commit his life to Jesus. Please continue to pray for this family. Vasile’s health is still very fragile and he needs support to grow in faith. However, this has been such a great encouragement to Esther. She has felt God’s close presence in her life and care for her family, and has seen how He can work through prayer and through His church.
