September and October saw above-normal rainfall across the whole region of Southeast Asia. A number of tropical storms and cyclones raced across the region, dumping massive amounts of water and causing widespread disruption and destruction.
During these tropical storms, reports have come in that a number of people have lost their lives or livelihoods. Important roads and bridges have been damaged, making travel and rescue more difficult in and around Cambodia. According to reports, hundreds of thousands of people have been impacted and needed to be evacuated to safer areas. The media have said that this is some of the worst flooding seen in many years.
Cambodia Action’s team and partners have been working hard to help and offer whatever assistance possible to those who have been affected. We, as a mission, are in regular contact with our members on the ground, monitoring the situation for prayer and news updates to our prayer partners. We will keep you posted., but please do pray for Cambodia at this time.
Please pray for:
- The recovery process that needs to take place and that people will get the help they need.
- Our partners and team members, that the Lord would keep them safe as they travel around Cambodia, that they would be used as instruments of His love and Goodness.
