What a blessing this project has been and will continue to be!
Just a few years ago, high up in the Quiche mountain area of Guatemala, the local church met under a tarpaulin sheet held up with poles. After much prayer and discussion with our Directors in Guatemala, a God given vision of a purpose built centre which would meet not only the spiritual needs of the people but also their physical needs was born.

Over the past few years permissions were sought and given, funds raised, building work started and now the Chulumal programme is a reality. The newly built church also houses accommodation for visiting groups and a kitchen, the land has a farming project established, a well and a rainwater catchment system and a newly built playground.

As part of this project a separate building was planned to house classrooms for the children and a dental clinic which would serve the local community. Thanks to a grant from MMN we were able to purchase brand new dental equipment to furnish this clinic. As is common in remote areas like this the building work can take longer than planned but on 18th April 2026 the dental clinic opened to its first patients as part of our annual medical, dental and evangelism campaign.

This project is completely off grid, powered by solar panels. Could this be the first solar powered dental clinic in Guatemala? We don’t know but what we do know is that this clinic will be life changing for the local community and we are indebted to MMN for your support.
