At the end of 2024, MMN ran a campaign for the Home Care project run by Emanuel Clinic in Moldova where a generous amount of support was raised and past onto the team who began to make plans to expand the work. We have received a wonderful report of how they have been able to expand the work below.
Home Care Project
Beginning on April 1, 2026, with the support of our MMN partners, we were grateful to launch a new Home Care Project in a suburb of Chișinău. The project began with 10 beneficiaries, and the care team consists of:
· one physician,
· one nurse,
· one spiritual counsellor,
· one volunteer,
each playing an essential role in providing comprehensive care and support to the patients.
The beneficiaries are elderly individuals suffering from chronic illnesses and multiple health conditions. Half of them are bedridden and completely dependent on the assistance of others. Through regular home visits, patients receive holistic care that addresses both their medical and spiritual needs.
The physician provides medical consultations and monitors each patient's health condition, while the nurse delivers professional and compassionate medical care. The volunteer brings meals and assists patients with their daily needs, and the spiritual counsellor spends time with each beneficiary, offering biblical counselling, encouragement, and prayer.
In addition to these services, every patient receives, free of charge, medications, adult diapers, hygiene supplies, and food. For many of them, this assistance is not only practical support but also a reminder that they are not forgotten and that there are people who genuinely care for them.
We are deeply grateful to God for the way He is working through this ministry and for the powerful testimony that is being established within the community. Although the project is still in its early stages, after only three months we have already witnessed encouraging results:
- One beneficiary has surrendered his life to the Lord Jesus Christ and is scheduled to be baptized on July 26.
- The husband of one of our beneficiaries has begun attending the local church.
The impact of this ministry has also been recognized by the Ciorescu Village Hall, whose representatives contacted us and provided a list of 20 additional individuals who are waiting to receive home care services.
These early results encourage us and confirm that this ministry is meeting a significant need within the community.
We thank God for every door He has opened, and we are sincerely grateful to our partners, whose faithful support enables us to continue providing compassionate care, hope, and the love of Christ to those who are suffering.
Testimonies from Our Nursing Staff:
“As part of the Home Care Project, I have the privilege of visiting Mrs. Ala Nița, born in 1962, on a weekly basis. She suffers from diabetes mellitus and Class II obesity and lives alone after experiencing the heart-breaking loss of both of her children. At each visit, we strive to provide not only the medical care she needs but also encouragement, compassion, and emotional support. Through the project, Mrs. Ala receives medications, incontinence supplies, and other essential medical items, as well as social and spiritual support. It has been a great joy to witness the transformation taking place in her life. She frequently expresses her gratitude for the care she receives and shares that she has begun drawing closer to God. Today, she prays regularly, watches Christian television programs, and listens to the Bible in audio format, finding peace, hope, and strength in God's Word each day. In addition to her health challenges, Mrs. Ala also faces difficult living conditions. She lives alone in an apartment on the top floor of a building, and during heavy rains, water leaks through the roof and damages her home. Despite these hardships, she continues to demonstrate a heart full of gratitude and trust in God. I am thankful that through this ministry we are able to care for people like Mrs. Ala, providing not only medical assistance but also hope, Christ's love, and compassionate support during some of life's most difficult moments.”
“As part of the Home Care Project, we regularly visit Mrs. Irina Dulea, born in 1947. She has been diagnosed with dementia, is bedridden, and has been widowed for more than ten years. By God's grace, and through the faithful support of our partners and the generous donors who stand with Emanuel Christian Medical Centre, Mrs. Irina continues to receive the care and assistance she needs. Through the project, we provide her with medications, adult diapers, and food, helping to improve her quality of life while also supporting those who care for her. Each time we visit together with our spiritual counsellor, we experience something deeply moving. Although dementia has severely affected her memory and she rarely recognizes those around her, Mrs. Irina still remembers and joyfully sings the hymn, 'Beneath Your Cross, Lord Jesus, I Long to Remain Forever Bowed.' She learned this hymn in her youth, and the fact that its words remain deeply rooted in her heart is a powerful testimony to the enduring impact of God's Word and the faith planted in her life many years ago. We are profoundly grateful to God and to all of our partners who make this ministry possible. Through your faithful support, we are able to provide not only medical care and practical assistance, but also hope, comfort, and the love of Christ to some of the most vulnerable people in our community.
