This winter we will be trying to raise as much support as possible for a maternity wing to be added to Berakhah Medical Centre in Uganda. The centre is run by Special Children's Trust who offer support to children living with disabilities and their families.
The need for maternal care in Uganda is huge, many women only have the option of giving birth at home leading to complications and the possible death of child and mother. There is very little support offered to pregnant women, which can lead to health issues and the child potentially being born with avoidable disabilities.
Berakhah Medical Centre are looking to add a maternity wing to the hospital, which would allow for mothers to receive health and pastoral support during pregnancy, for women to deliver their baby safely at the clinic and for caesarean births to be done on site if necessary.
Support raised will pay for the necessary staff and equipment to make this dream a reality.
From 28th November (Giving Tuesday) to 5th December, MMN will be taking part in the BigGive where any donations towards the Berakhah Medical Centre will be doubled! If you want to have twice the impact with your donation, then please click the link below during the last week of November.
