During 2020 a large amount of literature was sent to Angola. This included:
- 20,000 Chokwe/Portuguese hymn books
- 8,000 Portuguese Bibles
- 1,800 Portuguese Study Bibles
- 7,000 Bible commentaries and other sound literature
- 2,000 choice gleanings daily reading Bibles
- 1,500 Bible dictionaries and concordances
- 50,000 wall calendars in Chokwe, Portuguese, Luvale, Umbundu and Songo for free distribution
The Fund has adapted to changes at Medical Missionary News by placing a storage container on the farm of Justin and Joanne Ramsey in Finchingfield, Essex. We are deeply grateful for this as it allows us to import literature from abroad and store it until we are ready to send a container to Angola without incurring shipper’s storage costs. We continue to be indebted to Medical Missionary News for their expertise in arranging the containers, their shipment and all the associated shipping documents while greatly appreciating Justin, Joanne, and their son Phil’s work in loading the containers and the paperwork involved.
The Bangala Hymn Book revisions are nearly completed with the final editing to be completed as soon as international travel is permitted. The Luvale Hymn Book’s revisions are currently being edited and both these Hymn Books will be printed as soon as editing is completed.
Angolan assemblies have never displayed texts on their building walls. We have just shipped some large texts in a format that can be fitted to often uneven walls to try to encourage this practice and will expand this opportunity if it proves popular.
